Warrior Invitational – A Special Tribute to Coach Travis

Cross country and track & field alumni, it’s time to celebrate a milestone moment in WLC history. After 33 incredible years, Coach Steve Travis is approaching the finish line of his coaching career at WLC. As the founding force behind our Warriors cross country and track & field programs, Coach Travis has shaped not just teams, but lives — building a legacy rooted in discipline, faith, and miles of memories. This year’s Warrior Invitational will be his final home meet as head coach — and we want to make it unforgettable.

Event Details

Whether you’re lining up at the start or cheering from the course, we want as many alumni as possible to return and honor the coach who gave so much to us all.

🕚 8K Men's Race: 11:00 a.m.
🕛 6K Women's Race: 12:00 p.m.
🍕 Post-Race Lunch: Stick around afterward for lunch featuring Toppers Pizza, of course, because it wouldn’t be a Warrior Invitational without it!
👕 T-shirt Giveaway: Every alum who registers — whether you participate in the race or not — will receive a WLC Armor Up T-shirt, courtesy of the Alumni Relations Office.
📍 Location: Greenfield Park, West Allis, WI
🗺️ Directions: The cross country course start/finish area is located on Lincoln Avenue and approximately 123rd Street. Exit off I-894 at Greenfield Avenue. Turn west onto Greenfield Avenue. Turn left (south) onto 124th Street to Lincoln Avenue. Turn left (east) onto Lincoln Avenue. The park entrance and parking lot is the first left.

Let’s give Coach the kind of send-off he’d never ask for, but absolutely deserves. We’ll see you at the starting line! Feel free to bring your spouse, plus one, kids — the whole crew is welcome! And don’t worry about the cost — WLC Alumni Relations is picking up the tab.
