EVENT REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Thank you for your interest in the Alumni Farewell to Prof. Jay Sierszyn. The final day to register was April 14. We are unable to accept any new RSVPs due to ticket and catering deadlines.

After faithfully serving Wisconsin Lutheran College for 21 years, Professor Jay Sierszyn will be retiring at the end of this academic year. Although Jay will be missed, we are excited to celebrate with him as he enters the next chapter of his life. Theatre alumni are invited to a farewell dinner and WLC Theatre’s production of Quilters directed by Prof. Sierszyn on Saturday, April 29.

Since Quilters is about an American pioneer family, we thought it was only fitting to celebrate with a barbecue dinner and all the fixings (barbecue chicken, salmon with mango salad, mac & cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad, and assorted cookies). Join us at 5:30 p.m. in the Siebert Center located on the “B” level of the REX for dinner with Jay.

At 7 p.m., walk over to the Raabe Theatre to enjoy the 7:30 p.m. performance of Quilters. Quilters is a musical patchwork of stories and songs that centers on the challenges, hardships, triumphs, and joys of the American pioneer family. It is also a celebration of shared blessings - large and small - and the need to pass these blessings and stories (the “quilts” of our lives) from one generation to the next.

The WLC Alumni Relations Office is covering the cost of dinner and show tickets for theatre alumni and one guest (adults only please). To honor Prof. Jay Sierszyn, we invite you to make a donation to the WLC Theatre Department. If you have any questions, contact Lisa Leffel ’98, director of alumni relations, at 414.443.8796 or alumni@wlc.edu.

To ensure there are enough show tickets and to provide our catering team with a count for dinner, your RSVP is requested by Friday, April 14. Space is limited to 84 attendees. This date will not be extended, so please don't delay in registering. Thank you!
